The handsome wolf had been on a nice stroll, wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the pack. Flowers had bloomed everywhere, decorating the forest with a profound beauty. His emerald green eyes took in the sight, and in the distance he could hear the trickle of a creek up ahead, and he knew that the Crystaline was somewhere up ahead. He grinned, knowing that the crystals inside the cave must look wonderful. Eagerly, he padded towards the entrance and could already see reflections in an array of colors coming from the sharp crystals that lay within. Not wanting to disturb the peace and quiet, he lay down and decided he would watch as shadows, clouds, and sunlight beautifully made the reflections dance...

Gray coat blended in with the rocks as the Alphess of The Highmoore took inventory of the pack's treasures. They were running a little low since the hard winter had just passed but at least they would survive. Sitting on speckled haunches, the female sat remembering the cols and harshness of the season just past. They too were low in numbers as she had hear rumors that the Twilight pack were low as well. It would not be an easy task to get their numbers back up for not many wanted to live the life that they led, not that Sonya could blame them. Not even she wanted this life but no one she knew was privy to that information. She was honor bound by her parents before her to her position and in their memory, she would uphold the pack until her very last breath. With a sigh she turned to leave, making sure their treasures and stores of food were kept hidden from normal passersby. Only those of the pack knew where the food and furs were and it would be a pity to lose all of that hard work. As she turned to leave her ears pinned back as she made a form out in the gloom. "State your name of meet my claw."

Altair nearly jumped out of his fur when a sudden voice was heard. He was a little frustrated, seeing as the owner of the voice had disturbed his serenity. He let out a low warning growl, letting the other wolf know he would fight if need be. "I don't see why a name would matter, but if you must know it is Altair," he answered coolly and confidently. He was not familiar with the wolf that had just appeared, and he waited in silence for their response.
By the other wolf's scent, he could tell it was a female, and for some reason he also felt that she was superior in some way. Possibly an alpha? He inwardly shrugged the thought off, and stared at the she-wolf that approached him. She was a maned wolf, slightly taller than himself, with charcoal gray fur and orange markings ornamenting her pelt.

Pale ears flattened back against her head and her black lips pulled back over her glistening white teeth. A growl rumbled in the bowls of her chest and erupted out of that maw, a warning to the male that had identified himself as none other than her beta male. How dare he speak to her with such a tone! The anger welled up in the gray and fiery female and she took a step forward, her tail held high and her head even higher. "Ho dare you speak to me in such a way you flea ridden cur!"
|
[/i] she bellowed out, her voice echoing in the cave enough to hurt tender ears. "I suggest you hold your tongue or lose it."[/i] she said in a slightly quieter tone, knowing she had gotten her point across. While she did not particularly care to hold the position she was in, she expected her pack and it's members to obey and respect her. Altair's eyes widened to the size of the moon when he realized who he had just spoken to. He bowed down low to the ground apologetically, not wanting to get his tongue disembodied from his mouth. "Sonya, please forgive me, for I did not realize it was you I was speaking to. I am profusely sorry for the misunderstanding," he apologized, his tail lowered to show his respect. If he had known it was Sonya, he probably would not be in this situation. But, stupid Altair just had to forget and not realize that it was his alpha in the distance rather than an intruder. His emerald green eyes were lowered to stare at the ground, waiting for his alpha's response.
